How does the HUD bidding process work?

When a HUD foreclosure property goes up for auction, HUD specifies an owner-occupant bid date. Bidders who promise to live in the home for at least 12 months can place a bid by that date. The highest bidder meeting HUD’s minimum price requirements wins the auction.

If no owner-occupant bid is selected, a new bid date is set for investor buyers.
